Killer Shark Movie May Threaten Aussie Tourism

The Great Barrier Reef is being portrayed as the hunting grounds for the killer great white sharks in
the new film titled "The Reef". In the movie, four friends are terrorized by a man-eater after their boat
capsizes. It is based on a true story and it has angered local tourism operators. They say this movie will
hurt them because other movies like "Open Water" and "Jaws" have had the same impact on their
tourism. It is hard to get money from tourists in this economy already and this movie will only help
the producers of the film and nothing else it seems like.

  1. I love these kinds of movies with sharks. I am obsessed with shark week in the summer time, but it does make me scared of the water. I guess I could see how it hurts tourist sites to have moves like these made. But at the same time people will still go to these places they will just not go into the water. Most people like to go to these spots because they are pretty, bot because they want to swim in the water.
