The article written on October 2, 2009 by The New York Times is titled “Walruses Suffer Substantial Losses as Sea Ice Erodes”. The main point of this article is to show that global warming has been affecting the walruses’ habitats. During the summer months, they lay on sheets of ice in the middle of the sea, but lately because of the global warming, these ice caps have melted and the walruses’ had to rest upon the shore. There have been many incidents where they have been trampled or stampeded because of the overwhelming amount of walruses’ on the land.
